Re-Opening of the Speed Museum
Posted by: Gayle Walters Warren
The Louisville Speed Art Museum reopens March 12, 2016 after a 3 year, $60 million addition/renovation and you won't want to miss it! In one place, in one day, and FREE, you can see and hear performances and creations by Tibetan Buddhist Monks, Louisville Ballet, Actors Theatre, Louisville Orchestra, and puppeteers as well as talks by several justly proud Speed Museum curators.
After the opening and throughout March (except Mondays) the Speed will offer free interactive one hour docent guided tours exploring the museum's highlights. The next major event in the Global Speed series will be April 12 at 6:30 pm - a comprehensive overview of Italian Futurism (1909-1944), one of Europe's most important 20th Century avant-gardes.
Come visit the NEW Speed and stay at the DuPont Mansion. We are located just seven (7) blocks away!
